What is Floptropica?
FlopTok and Floptropica refer to a genre of TikTok memes that use predominantly feminine and characters (such as Wendy Williams, Jiafei and Deborah Ali-Williams) to paint a universe called Floptropica located on the imagined Floptropica Island, where the characters and memes exist. The genre plays on the precursor Badussy War which also used female, meme icons in a satirical, world-building manner. Overall, FlopTok is similar to "Stan Twitter" memes and utilize low quality and moldy videos for aesthetic purposes. FlopTok memes started in 2021 and trended en masse going into 2022 and 2023.

Floptropica History
Floptropica was made a real country in 1764 by Founding Mothers, and the first Native Floptropicans arrived in 800 BC. Floptropica experienced problems with TheBoyzian Empire, including gendered taxes (e.g. +0 for ‘male’ products such as basketballs and PlayStation 0s, +100 for ‘female’ products such as nail polish and heels) and sexist discrimination.
In reality, Floptropica was founded in early 2021 when @copyrightclaimact (unfortunately not an existing account anymore) commented on a video urging the Flops and Potaxies to raise money to buy and island located within the surroundings of Chile. And the Flops have since agreed upon that name. After a hefty battle with Lady Gaga for the island, the flops won and claimed Floptropica under what is now reffered to as theThe Treaty of New Babylon.
Since then, Floptropica has experienced so many different wars, we can’t even name them all! 😍
